HOW CELEBRATING SMALL SUCCESSES CAN LEAD TO BIG SUCCESSES

Life is much like a roller coaster ride with ups and downs and lots of twists and turns. However, when it comes to roller coaster rides, we are usually happy to have had the full experience (large dips and sharp turns included). While a roller coaster ride lasts a mere three minutes, this life is decades long. How can we make the most of our ride through this life? How can we learn to appreciate all the dips and sharp turns?

The answer is celebration! Celebrate your small successes no matter how insignificant they may seem. For example, if you land an interview with a company you’ve been drooling over working with, celebrate! Yes, before you even go on the interview celebrate the small success. The interview is a sign you are one step closer to your dream job. How about starting a journey toward weight loss? Don’t wait to lose all the weight. Celebrate your first week of eating healthy and making a positive decision for self-improvement even before the change is evident in the mirror.

We have created a culture that only celebrates final success. We are very concerned with final outcomes and less concerned with the small successes that bring us to those outcomes. Let’s take a moment to think about that. We celebrate a culmination of dedication and work, but never the small moments that bring us to that ultimate goal.

Success in any area of our lives is a process. There are steps we take that bring us closer and closer to our goals. Every step is just as significant as the last in the grand scheme of the journey. By celebrating small successes you are:

1. BUILDING MOMENTUM

By celebrating small successes that bring us closer to our goals we are reinforcing a positive attitude toward the goal as well as reminding ourselves how worthy we are of having all that we desire.

2. PRACTICING THE ENERGY

Positive reinforcement is the key to achieving any goal. The more connected you feel, the more likely you are to achieve that goal and even decrease the time it takes to get to the goal.

3. COMING FROM A PLACE OF APPRECIATION

Many people who allow themselves to dream big can be overwhelmed by the time and energy it takes to get there. What better way to give yourself a pick-me-up than a small reminder of why all the work is worth it than celebration! Appreciation positions us in a unique state of consciousness in which all the things we are wanting can more freely flow to us.

So, no you don’t have to throw a mega party in celebration of landing an interview with that amazing company, but yes you should jump up and down look yourself in the mirror and give a little wink. Even invite of few of your besties over for a pre-interview pep rally!

Please share some of your recent success below. LivingOut.Social would love to celebrate with you!
